Quotations on Islam from Notable Non-Muslims

The invaluable website, WikiIslam, has compiled a list of quotations about Islam from famous non-Muslims. Their list features 86 individuals, each with a short biography, and some choice quotes from their writings or speeches as they referenced the Religion of Muhammad. I personally appreciated them and was not offended by their accuracy and truthfulness.

For instance, here is what the French political thinker and historian, Alexis de Toqueville wrote:
I studied the Quran a great deal. I came away from that study with the conviction that by and large there have been few religions in the world as deadly to men as that of Muhammad. As far as I can see, it is the principal cause of the decadence so visible today in the Muslim world and, though less absurd than the polytheism of old, its social and political tendencies are in my opinion more to be feared, and I therefore regard it as a form of decadence rather than a form of progress in relation to paganism itself.
And here is what legendary author Mark Twain had to say:
That is a simple rule, and easy to remember. When I, a thoughtful and unblessed Presbyterian, examine the Koran, I know that beyond any question every Mohammedan is insane; not in all things, but in religious matters
Lastly, here is Maimonides, Jewish Rabbinic and Literary Master:
Let Ye understand, my brothers, the Holy One Blessed HE through the trap created by our iniquities cast us amongst this nation, the people of Ishmael [Muslim Arabs] whose oppressiveness is firmly upon us and they connive to do us wrong and despicably downgrade us as the Almighty decreed against us “Your enemies shall judge you."

There never came against Israel a more antagonistic nation. They oppress us with the most oppressive measures to lessen our number, reduce us, and make us as despicable as they themselves are.
